University of Saint Katherine in the Inaugural Collegiate Beach Volleyball League Event

BVNE’s  Collegiate Beach Volleyball League was proud to host the University of Saint Katherine at our inaugural event this past Sunday. We hope everyone had a great day, good competition, and hope to see you all again on March 4th!

Thank you all for making the trip from San Marcos! We’ll see you again soon.

A special thanks goes out to Jason C. Dibelius of NYvarsity on YouTube for putting together our videos.

Adding an individual component to NCAA beach volleyball?

The AVCA held a discussion at the 2017 convention in Kansas City regarding the possibility of converting college beach volleyball from a team sport to an individual sport. Those few words carry tremendous importance.

Currently NCAA schools and players must follow this one simple rule:  if a player is not competing for their school, they can’t compete at all during the school year. There are many other schools and organizations that simply do not have this restriction. Many players can benefit from improving their game by competing at public events, especially those that bring together collegiate players who will face each other again on behalf of their school.

The founder of BVNE, Daron Forbes, was present for the AVCA convention in 2017. Even prior to that meeting, plans were in the works for events serving small schools and we are now excited to announce our inaugural season of The Collegiate Beach Volleyball League. The CBVL will host four tournaments and one Small Schools West Coast Championship.

Here at the Collegiate Beach Volleyball League, we bring together players from as many collegiate organizations as we can to help them compete and improve, above what their colleges can offer. We are looking forward to our inaugural season this year!
